Vits Technology GmbH with registered office in Langenfeld (Germany) is a globally active machine and plant engineering company. We are system supplier for impregnation and coating lines: 75 % of the worldwide produced decorative papers are treated on Vits impregnation plants. Tailor-made solutions for impregnation, coating, contact-free drying and cross-cutting are among our core competences.

Unwinding

Unwinding

Our unwinding module is the start of every impregnation and varnishing line and decisive for the safe operation of the machine.

As the market leader, VITS guarantees a roll change without tension peaks and an adhesive bond that can withstand a longer resin dipping time without limiting the production speed driven in each case.

With a modern unwinding system, it is even possible to glue a narrow web to a wide one using the non-stop process - or vice versa.

More than 1.000 VITS systems produce worldwide. These references are synonymous with our expertise when it comes to the correct design of application systems.

In addition to drying and cross cutting, impregnation is one of VITS' core competences. Our design reliability is based, among other things, on the experience of knowing how the paper behaves in the given speed ranges in relation to the respective breathing distance. This avoids partial air inclusions in the impregnate, which has a positive effect on the quality during subsequent pressing with the respective carrier material.

Equally important is the metering quality with regard to the longitudinal and transverse dimensioning of the job.

VITS has been a pioneer in corundum application since 1998. Our customers can choose between two variants:

  • The spreading of corundum can hardly be surpassed in simplicity and efficiency.
  • Liquid overlay with its homogeneous resin mass, on the other hand, is particularly friendly to the impregnation plant because it is low-wearing.

Lacquering / one-sided application

By varnishing or coating we mean a finishing process - regardless of whether it is a finishing foil or a crepe or art paper.

In all these applications, the use of wire doctor blade systems has become indispensable:

  • We design high-precision systems for applications at speeds of up to 400 m/min.
  • But we also offer sophisticated solutions for finish foil production with small batch sizes and comparatively low speeds.

The pacemaker for the simultaneous coating of the paper top and bottom sides with synthetic resin is the anilox roll technology introduced by VITS.

It is even possible to use different resin types (melamine, urea, etc.). There is no comparable system which guarantees a specifically lower paper tension and is safer to use.

Laminating

For the process engineer, laminating with mica, for example, is an additional challenge for various special machines. Since the beginning of the 1980s, VITS has had special know-how at its disposal thanks to a large number of systems supplied.

In principle, the laminating process can be equated with laminating.

Important here is the thermal homogeneity of all the components to be joined as well as a great deal of experience in configuring the necessary press roll systems - also to enable crease-free covering of the web on both sides.

Drying

Drying

VITS is the inventor of the flotation dryer technology - another core competence of our company. The nozzle development in our company has a long and successful tradition.

Above all, the symmetrical design of the dryer is important. We have even eliminated asymmetrical tendencies in the circulating air system.

Our dryer modules are characterised by a well thought-out design. Access to the interior of the dryer through large and well closing doors is also an important feature.

Cooling

The cooling of the fabric web with prepared cooling air is technologically necessary and must be carried out gently. In terms of design, the cooling field corresponds to a short dryer without heating device. By means of chill roll stands we reach the web temperature required for the subsequent winding or cutting process.

Our rewinding system is characterized by the perfect interaction of mechanics, electronics and drive technology.

In addition to the sophisticated winding characteristics and the corresponding electronic program design, this is also worth mentioning:

  • Stable stand and winding arm construction
  • Low torsion winding axis/tube drive technology for higher winding performance
  • Intelligent paper feed to reduce air inclusions within the individual winding layers
Cutting

Cutting

Rotary cross cutting is one of the core competences of VITS.

Our system solution ensures a clean and fibre-free cut as well as the safe and precise stacking of the separated paper sheet - even at high production speeds.

The special design of our rotary top knife significantly reduces cutting noise and drive power.
