NEWS FROM THE VITS TECHNICAL CENTER
We are pleased to share positive customer feedback from an exciting innovation project carried out at the Vits Technical Center.
Fiberdom, a pioneer in wood-based natural fiber materials, successfully tested its plastic-free material Duranova® on our pilot line in Germany. The trials demonstrated the reel-to-reel industrial scalability of this innovative natural fiber solution.
The focus of the test series was on:
- Process stability
- Reproducibility
- Scalability for industrial applications
The packaging industry is currently facing increasing pressure to reduce plastic usage.
The upcoming EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) is expected to significantly accelerate the transition toward sustainable packaging solutions.
Our trials show that Duranova® can be processed on continuous industrial equipment, representing an important step toward large-scale implementation in packaging and thermoforming applications.
Supporting innovations like this is exactly what drives us. At the Vits Technical Center, we help partners validate new materials and technologies under real industrial conditions and enable scalable solutions for the market.
We are proud to contribute our facilities and expertise to innovation projects like this.
A sincere thank you to Fiberdom for their trust and the excellent partnership.
