The VITS Elektro GmbH was founded in Düsseldorf by Mr. Emil Vits

1954

His sons Hilmar and Walter Vits join the company VITS.

1956

The company moved from Düsseldorf to Langenfeld.

1957

The first impregnation machine PT 1 was constructed.

1960

Development of the first air-cushion nozzle LAY-ON-AIR, a nozzle system for the "no-contact" transport of web, in the dryer.

1964

1964 Development of the successful nozzles of the AIRFOIL® system.

1966

Development of the first offset dryer OT 1

1967

Extension of the administration building and the production halls.

1973

Development of the first sheeter ROTOCUT; QRO 1.

1978

Delivery of the 100th offset dryer OT -100.

1988

Delivery of the 600th impregnation unit PT-600, extensions to the production halls.

1990

Development of the 'S' type dryer for impregnation units.

1992

The company was taken over by Babcock-BSH AG.

1995

Delivery of the 500th VITS-ROTOCUT®, QRO-500.

1996

The first installation of inline finishing products in Europe.

1998

VITS' 70th anniversary.

1999

Delivery of the 700th sheeter;

2000

Presentation of the new ROTOCUT HS sheeter - it holds the international
record of 70,000 c.p.h.

2001

Sale of the 800th high-performance impregnation unit PT 800

2002

Foundation of Vits Systems GmbH after Babcock Borsig AG filed for insolveny, New owner becomes the WD Beteiligungs GmbH (Bregenz, Austria)

Re-organisation of the company - Vits´75th anniversary
